Ismaili seek to bring back their heyday by appointing Mohsen Saleh as their new manager, FilGoal.com understands. The Dervishes lost patience with Ricardo Ferreira, who was brought in last September in a bid to turn around the team's fortunes. Under the Brazilian coach's guidance, Ismaili lost three matches and drew once in the Egyptian Premier League as their hopes of competing for the title faded. They lie fourth in the 16-team table on 32 points, seven behind leaders and fierce rivals Ahli, who have a game in hand. Now Ismaili turned their attention to former Egypt tactician Saleh, who led them to their last league title in a remarkable 2001/2002 season. The 60-year-old has been out of job since being sacked by Yemen last month. He has turned down an offer to take charge of Masri recently due to health problems. But Ismaili are quite confident that they can convince him to have another spell with the coastal club. Should Saleh accept their offer, he would be handed the task of leading Ismaili to their first piece of silverware since their 2002 league triumph. The three-time Egyptian champions were eliminated from the domestic cup and are unlikely to trouble Ahli at the league's summit. The Arab Champions League (ACL) represents the last chance for Ismaili to avoid ending the season empty handed. They will face Tunisia's Esperance in the competition's quarter-final.
