Ismaili coach Ricardo Ferreira is delighted that his side revived their Egyptian Premier League hopes with a precious 1-0 away victory over Ahli on Thursday. "A win was very important to help us compete for the title, and thankfully we managed to achieve it," The Brazilian told reporters after the game. Mohsen Abou-Greisha's second-half header was enough for the Dervishes to defeat the Red Devils at Cairo Stadium. The win moved Ismaili into second place on 38 points, just two behind leaders Ahli, who still have a game in hand. "The first-half was balanced, but we were much better than Ahli in the second period during which we created many goalscoring opportunities," Ricardo added. The former Hilal manager is seemingly repaying the faith shown in him by Ismaili board after guiding the coastal club to two successive victories. There were calls for Ismaili to sack Ricardo following the team's poor results in January but they gave him a vote of confidence.
