Ismaili's new coach Ricardo Ferreira believes the Dervishes have what it takes to end their six-year title drought. The Brazilian annulled his contract with Sudan's Hilal to take over at Ismaili, whose vacant managerial seat was temporarily filled by Emad Soliman during the past few months. Ricardo, who was officially unveiled on Tuesday, is confident that he can bring silverware back to the club. Ismaili's last major trophy was in 2002 they won the Egyptian League in an impressive fashion, finishing the season unbeaten to beat fierce rivals Ahli to the title. “I believe that I have a great chance to realize all my ambitions here,” he told a press conference. “Ismaili have the necessary qualities to claim silverware. They very good players and enjoy an administrative stability.” The three-time Egyptian champions made a decent start to their league campaign. Ismaili, who lost just once so far, lie third in the table with ten points, just one behind leaders Petrojet, who played an extra match.
