Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed had submitted an official request to the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) to terminate his contract with Zamalek before the assault incident at the club on Monday. Al-Sayed told FilGoal.com before the assault on Monday that he hasn't received his wages for the past two months which allow him, according to EFA rules, to terminate the contract. The 29-year-old goalie asserted that he tried to contact Zamalek officials to sort out the case within the club but he received no response. It is unlikely that Al-Sayed's complaint triggered the attack that resulted in a hand injury that will rule him out of action for up to six months. Meanwhile, midfielder Tamer Abdul-Hamid said he decided to move out during the winter transfer window in January. Abdul-Hamid said he refuses to be relegated to the bench by the coaching staff and that he needs to play regular football.
