Zamalek failed in their last attempt to get their Egyptian Premier League defeat against Harras Hodoud overturned after losing an appeal on Monday. The Egyptian FA's appeals committee has upheld the decision to validate Hodoud's 2-1 victory over Zamalek in December last year. The Cairo club sought a replay on the grounds that Hodoud fielded an ineligible player in forward Ahmed Eid. Eid received a straight red card two matches earlier, a suspension that Zamalek said should have ruled him out of action for two matches according to the EFA's regulations. However, the Egyptian international sat out just one game to play against the White Knights and score the opener in Hodoud's win. "The final decision is that Hodoud's victory will stand," Mahmoud Raslan, the head of the appeals committee, said. Zamalek are yet to comment on the announcement but are likely to escalate the matter. They have already clashed with the EFA on several occasions this season, accusing them of favoring other teams. The White Knights, who resume league action against ENPPI on Monday, lie sixth in the table with 21 points, 14 adrift of leaders and arch-rivals Ahli.
