Zamalek coach Hossam Hassan proved his worth following Wednesday's 2-0 victory at Asyut Petroleum in the Egyptian Premier League, his twin brother said. Ibrahim Hassan, who unofficially occupies the football director role due to suspension, was full of praise for Hossam, who made an impressive start to his Zamalek adventure. "Hossam's tactical abilities were obvious during the victory over Asyut," Ibrahim told Modern Sport after the game. "Many critics said Hossam can just lift the players' morale through his enthusiastic approach but they didn't believe he was tactically good." Former Egypt striker Hassan took over at the ailing Cairo giants when they were struggling at the wrong end of the table. Talks about an unthinkable relegation to the second division also surfaced. Although his reign began with a 2-1 home defeat to Harras Hodoud in a controversial affair, Hassan's work quickly paid off. The White Knights held arch-rivals and league leaders Ahli to a goalless draw, crushed Masri 3-0 before claiming an easy 2-0 win over bottom side Asyut – the first time they secure two successive victories this season. "Everything is clear now, Hossam proved that he is a good coach. Everybody saw how Zamalek played well during the past games," Ibrahim Hassan added.
