Ibrahim Hassan has been cleared to officially carry out his duties as Zamalek's football director after having his five-year ban lifted by the Union of North African Football Federations (UNAF). Hassan, the twin brother of Zamalek head coach Hossam Hassan, has had to assume an unofficial role at the Cairo club after being suspended in December 2008 for losing his head in a regional match while working for Masri. The 43-year-old, who was the football director of the Port Said-based club, spat at the referee, assaulted the fourth official and made improper gestures towards the home crowd after his side lost 2-0 at Algeria's JSM Bejaia. His suspension was also upheld by world governing body FIFA. However, the UNAF agreed on Friday to lift his ban and give him the green light to act as Zamalek's official football director. Hassan was also banned from attending Zamalek's games last season by the Egyptian FA for trying to beat a Police Union coaching staff member in a Premier League game.
