Sunderland are keen to sign Egypt winger Ahmed Al-Muhammadi from ENPPI, the player's agent Nader Shawki revealed. "Al-Muhammadi had a successful trial with Sunderland at the weekend and manager Steve Bruce was impressed," Shawki told Modern Sport TV. "Negotiations between Sunderland and ENPPI should be concluded in the next few days." Al-Muhammadi was strongly linked with a move to Blackburn in the winter break, but Paul Ince's departure from Ewood Park hindered the deal. The 22-year-old played well in ENPPI's 4-3 defeat to ES Setif in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday, scoring a goal and setting up another. On the other hand, Shawki, the agent of Amr Zaki as well, established a fine relationship with ex-Wigan boss Bruce during the Egypt striker's spell in England last term.
