Petrojet coach Mokhtar Mokhtar insists his side will fight for the Egyptian Premier League title until it is mathematically impossible. The Petroleum club held leaders Ahli to a 2-2 home draw on Sunday to keep alive their hopes of springing a huge surprise. Ahli, who would have edged closer to a fifth consecutive title if they defeated Petrojet, are still on top of the league table with 40 points. Second-placed Petrojet are five points behind the Red Devils, who still have a game in hand. "The hope still exists," Mokhtar, who steered Petrojet to a fifth-placed finish last season, told Modern Sport after the game. "We will work very hard until the end. We will not give up unless Ahli win the title mathematically." Petrojet left-back Osama Hassan, who scored an own goal, said his side would at least try to finish second in order to play in the lucrative Champions League. "We want to take part in the Champions League so we should remain consistent."
