Egypt skipper Ahmed Hassan said he is ready physically and mentally to participate in Anderlecht's UEFA Champions League clash against French side Lille. "I recovered from the small injury I sustained during Egypt's match against Burundi in the African Cup qualifiers," Hassan told FilGoal.com on Tuesday. The 31-year-old midfielder did not start in Anderlecht's 1-1 league draw with Mouscron due to the injury as well as his feeling of depression after Egypt teammate Mohamed Abdul-Wahab died. But Hassan vowed to give his best in the UCL tie in order to lift the Belgian champions to the competition's knock-out stage for the first time in history. Anderlecht are drawn in Group H along with Italian giants AC Milan, AEK Athens and Lille. "This time our chances of progressing to the second round are similar to our competitors in the group," Hassan said. "A win over Lille will be a huge boost to our confidence. We studied the French team's way of play and knew their weak points; I think we have a big chance to win. "Anderlecht consist of young players who don't have European experience but are motivated to show their worth," he added.
