Zamalek complain against Ricardo
Published in Daily News Egypt on 13 - 11 - 2008

CAIRO: Zamalek have filed a formal complaint to the Egyptian Football Association against Ricardo Alves after the Brazilian left-back failed to turn up for training more than once.
The 26-year-old, along with four other players, was ordered to train separately from his teammates as a disciplinary measure.
Zamalek, who are revolutionizing their squad in a bid to turn around their fortunes, also revealed that Ricardo will be transfer-listed in January.
Consequently, the former Vasco da Gama man decided to abandon training.
"Ricardo was ordered to train with the punished players but he declined to do so, Zamalek football director Ahmed Refaat told the club's official website on Thursday.
"We lodged that complaint to preserve our rights. We owe the player nothing, he received all his dues, contrary to reports suggesting otherwise.
Ricardo joined Zamalek in the close season after his contract with Libyan side Ittihad expired but he failed to impress.
He was suspended for three matches by Zamalek in August after being involved in a scuffle with teammate Gamal Hamza.
Zamalek coach Reiner Hollmann will be left with no recognized left-back at his disposal as the underperforming Osama Hassan was also punished by the club.
