CAIRO: Egypt has prepared documents to prove its claim over the smuggled money of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, his family and 15 former officials who were involved corruption crimes. Counselor Essam al-Gohari, Assistant to Minister of Justice, met with the Swiss government committee to discuss required preparations and documents to restore the money. He declared to Youm7 that a committee will hold a closed meeting with its Swiss counterpart to restore the smuggled money. The Swiss committee includes Swiss officials from the Ministries of Justice and Foreign Affairs. The Swiss Ambassador to Cairo, Dominic Forgler, said, "Switzerland will take its measures in the next few days to restore frozen assets of the former Egyptian officials.” He criticized countries that accuse Switzerland of not cooperating with restoring the Egyptian money in Swiss banks, confirming that Switzerland froze Mubarak's assets immediately after his stepping down, before the Egyptian government even asked for the money to be frozen. The Swiss diplomat stressed that his country will not accept taking the illegal assets of the figures of the former regime. The judiciary committee to restore smuggled money held an open session today with the Swiss delegation in which al-Gohari thanked the Swiss government for freezing 410 million Swiss franc (U.S. $467 million) of the former president and other former officials.
