Egypt midfielder Mohamed Al-Nenni is unlikely to join Basel in the winter break despite leaving a positive impression at the Swiss champs, according to manager Murat Yakin. Al-Nenni has been on trial with Basel for over a week now, featuring in two warm-up games with Yakin's side, who are having a friendly tour in Spain. Despite scoring a goal in the 2-2 draw against Hungary's Ferencvaros, boss Yakin seems in no rush to sign Al-Nenni from Arab Contractors in the January transfer window as he implied that the 20-year-old's chances of moving is 50-50. "The impression is positive. Al-Nenni would be an investment for the future," Yakin told Swiss media. "The contracts of Cabral and Gilles Yapi-Yapo who play in the same position run out in the summer. "Maybe then we will need to bring Al-Nenni and watch him again." Should Al-Nenni seal a move to Basel, he will join Egypt teammate Mohamed Salah at St. Jakob-Park.
