Egypt midfielder Mohamed Al-Nenni has sealed a loan move to Basel, according to the Swiss club's official website. Al-Nenni, who has been on trial with the Swiss champions, signed a six-month loan deal from Arab Contractors with a view to a permanent transfer at the end of the season. Even though manager Murat Yakin stated a few days ago that the 20-year-old was unlikely to move to St. Jakob-Park this winter, the club opted to snap him up two weeks before the transfer deadline. Reports indicate that Basel's change of plans is due to potential competition they are likely face signing Al-Nenni in the summer. Al-Nenni joins Egypt teammate Mohamed Salah in Yakin's side, who resume their league campaign on February 10 against Sion.
