Mohamed Zidan is hoping to build on the success of fellow Egyptian Hosni Abd-Rabou in the UAE. Zidan moved to mid-table club Bani Yas this summer, three seasons after Abd-Rabou's impressive spell at Ahli Dubai. The former Bundesliga champion was also joined in the Gulf nationby Egypt teammate Shikabala, who is set to complete a loan move to Al-Wasl from Zamalek. “I think Hosni Abd-Rabou's spell with Ahli Dubai was successful," Zidan told a press conference while being presented by his new club. “Hosni helped Ahli win the league title and also played with them in the Club World Cup. “I hope that Shikabala and I would do the same thing here in the UAE and leave a good sign for Egyptian players in the Emirate league. “For me, I think I've chosen the right time to move to the Gulf and I wish to make an impact here." Bani Yas, who have never won a major trophy, open their new UAE Football League season in October.
