Mohamed Zidan has joined Emirate club Bani Yas on a free transfer, the Egyptian confirmed on Tuesday. The 30-year-old has been on the lookout for a new club after rejecting a contract extension from Bundesliga side Mainz earlier this summer, following a six-month loan spell. “I've signed a two-year deal with Bani Yas starting next season after spending roughly eight successive years in Europe," Zidan told CNN.com. “The deal will see me receive $2million per season, but what's important is that I will be featuring in the UAE league. “Negotiations didn't take a long time as both parties were keen to finalize the deal as I hope I would be a valuable addition to Bani Yas." Zidan had been linked with a move to Cairo giants Ahli late in May, but the Egyptian champions opted not to approach him. Bani Yas finished last season in ninth place of the 12-team UAE First League.
