Ismaili have rejected Zamalek's EGP 2million offer for defender Moatasem Salem, whereas the Cairo club are unwilling to raise their bid. Zamalek declared interest in the want-out stopper last week, hoping the Dervishes would tone down their EGP 5million price tag. However, Ismaili stood firm on their demands, giving their crisis-hit league rivals no option but to pull out of the deal. “We reject Zamalek's EGP 2million offer for Salem,” Ismaili chairman Nassr Aboul-Hassan told FilGoal.com. Zamalek replied through interim president Galal Ibrahim, who confirmed: “This is our last offer, we refuse Ismaili's bargaining.” Salem was on the brink of leaving Ismaili last summer as the latter accepted an offer from Zamalek, only for the 30-year-old to refuse the move. He eventually reached an agreement with Ahli, but the deal fell through when Ismaili suddenly backed down hours before the transfer deadline. The Egypt international is a still a priority target for the league champions though, while a move to the Gulf is also on the cards for him.
