Zamalek keeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef handed the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) a request to terminate his contract with Zamalek. The want-out goalie is aiming to end his deal with the White Knights pursuant to the article number 17 of FIFA's rules. Abdul-Monsef informed the White Knights of his intent to rescind his contract, saying he's legally entitled to terminate it these days. The 33-year-old repeatedly called on Zamalek to allow him to leave but the Cairo club have been reluctant to dispense with him. He came close to joining Gouna this summer but Zamalek, on second thoughts, decided to keep hold of him, which prompted the towering shot-stopper to seek the termination of his contract. Abdul-Monsef joined Zamalek from Dina Farms in the summer of 1999 but was always rated as a back-up custodian. He played regularly on numerous occasions though due to the persistent injury problems of regular keeper Al-Sayed. Al-Sayed, who seems to have finally shaken off his niggling complaints, produced some impressive displays last season to restore his place between the sticks.
