West Ham United confirmed on Monday that their squad has been give a three-day rest this week, following their six successive losses in the Premier League. The Hammers, who lost 1-0 to Stoke City on Saturday, are out of the relegation zone only on goal difference. Manager Gianfranco Zola decided to give his men a break ahead of their upcoming match with Everton, hoping it will help them get back to winning ways. "Mr Zola has gone to Sardinia. He's given the players three days off to freshen up for the Everton game, they are back training on Wednesday," said West Ham co-owner David Sullivan. "The Board will be most surprised if he isn't coaching the team this week. "We had a very amicable meeting with him after the match on Saturday and he indicated nothing to the contrary."
