Zaki move to Portsmouth rejected - agent
Published in FilGoal on 31 - 08 - 2009

Amr Zaki's agent has confirmed that the Egypt striker's move to Portsmouth was blocked by Zamalek.
"Portsmouth have made an official bid for Zaki, but Zamalek said they wanted to keep him and rejected any possibility of his exit," agent Nader Shawki told FilGoal.com.
"Portsmouth offered three different solutions for Zamalek to get Zaki.
"They offered £3million or £2.5million plus 50% of the next sale to buy him permanently. They also made a £500,000 loan offer, but Zamalek aren't ready to sell."
Zaki was targeted by Portsmouth, owned by Arab tycoon Soliman Al-Fahim, in the recent months and his agent was persistently seeking to get him back to England.
The 26-year-old had a stuttering loan spell at Wigan last season, after which he said 'it is impossible for him to return to Egypt'.
However, it seems that Zamalek have convinced the robust striker to stay, amid new chairman Mamdouh Abbas' high ambitions this season.
Meanwhile, Shawki, who is the agent of Egypt winger Ahmed Al-Muhammadi, added that ENPPI are still in talks with Sunderland over the transfer of the 22-year-old.
