Inter Milan midfielder Esteban Cambiasso is facing a lengthy lay-off after having a knee operation, as he sustained a major injury a couple of days ago. The Argentine ace damaged his right knee during Friday's match with Juventus in the Trofeo Tim. Cambiasso underwent surgery on Monday, and now he's set for the post-operative rehabilitation. The Nerazzurri confirmed that the operation was successful, but didn't mention the approximate time of his return. "The surgery to Esteban Cambiasso's meniscus of the right knee has terminated," a statement on Inter's official site reads. "It was perfectly successful and was carried out by professor Franco Benazzo in collaboration with Inter medical professor Franco Combi. "The midfielder is well and he will begin rehabilitation after a few days of rest." Several media reports suggested that Cambiasso, 28, should be back in action roughly after 24 days, although meniscus injuries could take up to eight months to heal.
