Sion jeopardized their top-flight status after succumbing to a 2-1 defeat at Young Boys Bern in the Swiss League on Wednesday. Egypt goalie Essam Al-Hadari has been named in the visitors' starting eleven for the third match running since he was demoted to a substitute as a result of his late arrival from international duty. The 36-year-old keeper conceded the opener three minutes from the half-hour mark when he failed to deny a spot-kick from Xavier Hochstrasser. Didier Crettenand put Sion back on level terms on 40 minutes, but Seydou Doumbia hit the winner half-way through the second half. On finishing the game empty-handed, Sion failed to move up in the table and remained in ninth place with 30 points. Didier Tholot's men are expected to receive their 18th league defeat next week when they face Neuchatel Xamax in a blistering derby. Sion have two more games against bottom team Vaduz and mid-table side Bellinzona respectively to see the season through. The last outfit in the ten-team table will be automatically relegated by the end of the season. The penultimate side will face the second-placed team of the lower division in a decisive play-off, and the winners will secure a Super League spot. The Match's goals and Al-Hadari's highlights
