Amir Azmi is set for a new challenge after ending his spell with Cypriot side AEK Larnaca. The Egyptian stopper completed a six-month deal with Larnaca, who were eventually relegated to the second division. "The season ended in Cyprus and this means that my contract with Larnaca has expired," Azmi told FilGoal.com. "I have options to stay in Cyprus or move to the Greek league, but I am looking for a new adventure and there is interest from a Russian club, so I am considering it." Azmi played for PAOK Saloniki in Greece between 2004 and 2006, after which he had some fluctuating experiences abroad, including a spell with Anorthosis Famagusta, where he won the league last season. Egypt Return The former Zamalek defender indicated that he is open to offers from the Egyptian league, but conceded that a domestic return is only a second option. "My aim is to keep playing in Europe, but if I got a good offer from an Egyptian club I might look into it," the 26-year-old added. Azmi was close to re-joining Zamalek last year, but the administrative problems inside the Cairo club prompted him to move away.
