AEK Larnaca newly-signed defender Amir Azmi made his Cypriot League debut in the 2-2 draw with Paralimni on Saturday. The former Zamalek stopper helped his team put an end to a five-match losing streak. Azmi, who's wearing the number 24, was included in the starting-eleven and produced a good display. Azmi's side could have claimed all three points, but their opponents hit a last-gasp equalizer on 88 minutes. After slumping to five consecutive defeats, Larnaca plummeted to the 13th penultimate place in the Local League. Days ago, the towering defender was a free agent as he declared his contract with Turkey's Hacettepespor null and void. He eventually joined the Cypriot outfit on a six-month deal.
