Amir Azmi's AEK Larnaca have been demoted to the Cypriot second division after slumping to a 4-1 defeat at Omonia on Sunday. Egyptian defender Azmi was named in the starting line-up and played the whole 90 minutes, but failed to make a drastic impact. Upon losing the game, Larnaca remained in penultimate place, 13th, with 15 points, four behind 12-placed Alki. The Cypriot League ends by next week, therefore Larnaca have no chance to move up in the table, and have been mathematically relegated. Former Zamalek youngster Azmi joined the Cypriot outfit in the past winter transfer window on a six-month deal, and he's going to be a free agent by the end of this term.
