Petrojet coach Mokhtar Mokhtar will not throw in the towel on the Egyptian Premier League title although Ahli have a chance to open a five-point lead at the top. If Ahli beat Arab Contractors on Wednesday they will move further clear of second-placed Petrojet, who lost ground to the Red Devils following a stunning 3-1 defeat to second-bottom Olympic on Tuesday. Ahli also have a game in hand that could help them extend their advantage to eight points as they seek to win a fifth consecutive league title. But Mokhtar, who steered Petrojet to a fifth-placed finish last season, is adamant Petrojet still have a chance of causing an upset. "Our defeat against Olympic doesn't mean that we are out of the title race," he told FilGoal.com on Wednesday. "Yes our task (winning the league) is difficult but I still believe we can achieve it." Petrojet have a chance to make up for their Olympic stumble when they face Ahli in a crucial league game on Sunday. "Ahli are a great team but we will focus on claiming all three points," Mokhtar added. Petrojet are likely to do without influential midfielder Ahmed Shaaban, who picked up a foot injury against Olympic. He joins defender Ayman Ramadan in the club's treatment room.
