Zamalek assistant coach Tarek Yehia has warned his players that the club will adopt a zero tolerance policy towards any improper behavior. Yehia's comments came following the unfortunate brawl that occurred between two Zamalek players in the 2-0 Egyptian League victory over Ghazl Mahalla on Friday. Forward Gamal Hamza engaged in a scuffle with Brazilian full-back Ricardo Alves for unknown reasons. Hamza, known for being a temperamental forward, slapped Ricardo and the latter responded in the same manner. Zamalek captain Ayman Abdul-Aziz intervened along with his teammates to separate the duo. “There is no room for leniency here,” Yehia told Zamalek's official website after the match. “The team's technical staff will do what it takes to ensure that discipline is maintained. “Any disobedient player will be punished. Principles will have the upper hand over anything else.” Ricardo was sent off by referee Essam Abdul-Fattah while Zamalek coach Reiner Hollmann introduced Alaa Kamal instead of Hamza.
