Masri gave new coach Hossam Hassan his first win in charge of the club after a precious 3-1 home victory over Ghazl Mahalla. The win ease Masri's relegation worries as they climbed into 11th place in the Egyptian League standings with 20 points, level with Tersana. Egypt's legendary striker Hassan, who has yet to announce his retirement from football, took charge of the Port Saied-based club after the sacking of Portuguese Juan Alves. In Hassan's debut, Masri produced a good display against Aluminum and were unlucky not to have won after a goalless draw. But they managed to secure a valuable victory against Tersana. Osama Azab put Masri ahead in the 29th minute before Mohamed Abou-Khangar drew the hosts level shortly after the interval. Ahmed Galal restored Masri's lead three minutes past the hour mark before Amr Bassiouni ensured the victory six minutes later.
