Cristiano Ronaldo's late strike drove Manchester United to a 2-1 fight back over Sporting Lisbon, on Wednesday, in the UEFA Champions League to finish top of the group. Abel Ferreira put Sporting ahead after 21 minutes with a shot from near the touchline that beat Manchester's keeper Tomasz Kuszczak. The Red Devils had to wait until the 61st minute to level the score as Carlos Tevez's shot was deflected by the visitors' defender into his own nets. The hosts pressed forward and went inches close from the winner twice but Ryan Giggs and Owen Hargreaves' efforts were denied. But Ronaldo broke his fellow countrymen's heart as he curled in a magnificent free kick in injury time to secure the top of the group and have a calm trip to Roma in the next round. This is while Roma crushed Dynamo Kiev 4-1 in Kiev. Mirko Vucinic's hat-trick and a strike from Ludovic Giuly routed the hosts who had a consolation goal for Ismael Bangoura.
