England Captain David Beckham has admitted that he made a mistake by leaving Real Madrid and joining Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of last season. "I felt capable of staying for longer at Real Madrid. I think I could have still played for three more seasons at the highest level, but as the club told me in January that they did not want to renew my contract I took this decision," said the 30-year-old midfielder. Bekcham was told in January that he won't be offered a new contract by Real and that's why he moved to the LA Galaxy who recruited him for a gigantic $252 million-five-year contract. Although he showed one of his best ever performances during the last six months leading the Merengues to their first league title in four years. Coach Fabio Capello and Chairman Ramon Calderon were desperate to keep him but that was impossible. "That day (where we won the league title) my heart ached, but the decision was already taken. I am going to continue to support Real Madrid and follow them next season." Beckham also said that the players are the least to be blamed as the club was messed up during the past years. "There were too many changes. Three presidents and six coaches is too much. The players never stopped trying and we were the least guilty in all this."
