Real Madrid chairman Ramon Calderon expressed his delight after David Beckham's latest performances and revealed his aim to keep the England Captain at the Bernabeu despite having signed a contract with US Los Angeles Galaxy. " The Madrid supporters love him, and for me I would like him to remain in the team," Calderon told the Spanish newspaper Marca. "He is playing at a great level and yesterday he fought even though he was half injured against Zaragoza." Bekcham had to play against Zaragoza last Sunday through the pain and showed a great fighting spirit to lead his team to a tough 2-2 draw and keep the lead in La Liga race. The former England skipper signed a huge $252 Million 5-year-deal with the American giants but Calderon revealed that there is a clause in his contract that allows him to stay at Madrid. However, a spokesman for Beckham told PA SportsTicker his client did not want to backtrack on the deal. "There is no intention of getting out of the Galaxy contract," he said. "David is looking forward to going to LA - but he wants to end his career at Real Madrid on a high note first, by winning the league." The 32-year-old midfielder is set to join LA Galaxy on July 1st when his contract expires with the Merengues.
