Mahalla-based club Al-Baladeya are back in the Egyptian Premier League after just one season in Division one following a 4-2 victory Talkha Electricity on Wednesday. The victory ensured Al-Baladeya will play in the elite competition next season as they top Group C on 73 points, nine clear of second-placed Maleyet Kafr Al-Zayat with two matches to go. Al-Baladeya, who made their Premier League debut in the 1992/1993 season, will appear in the top flight for the 12th time in their history. Elsewhere, Al-Etisalat missed out on the chance of securing their Premier League status after they were handed their second consecutive defeat at the hands of Military Factory 18. Al-Etisalat need three points in their last two games if they are to progress. Fate is yet to be known in the Upper Egypt group after Aluminum grabbed a 2-0 home victory over Bany Sweif while Al-Gouna registered a thrashing 4-1 win against Pharaohs. Aluminum are in charge of the group with ten points, three ahead of second-placed Al-Gouna. The leaders and the runners-up face-off in a crucial clash next round which will be decisive in determining the promoted team. Egyptian first division league is divided into three groups, with each leader goes directly to the Premier League.
