Inter Milan extended their lead on top of the Serie A after coming from behind to earn a 3-1 home victory over Fiorentina as Roma were held to a 1-1 draw by Livorno on Sunday. Inter are in charge of the Serie A table with 54 points, nine ahead of second-placed Roma whose chances of competing for the title are fading. At the Giuseppe Meazza, unmarked Luca Toni stunned the home crowd as early as the fifth minute when he connected with Fabio Liverani's corner-kick to head home from close range. The Nerazzurri leveled the score in the 19th minute after Brazilian striker Adriano passed the ball across the area to the onrushing Dejan Stankovic whose powerful drive went past the motionless keeper Sebastien Frey. Adriano turned scorer five minutes later after curling a low free-kick into the back of the net do put Inter ahead. Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic ensured the win in the 71st minute on the second attempt after his initial header from Stankovic's cross was saved by Frey. Elsewhere, Roma lost ground to Inter following a 1-1 draw with Livorno at the Stadio Picchi. Cristiano Lucarelli grabbed the lead for the hosts from the spot in the 22nd minute before Francesco Totti equalized for Roma in the 74th minute but was sent-off in stoppage time for violent conduct.
