Zamalek striker Amr Zaki has been called up for Ahli Jeddah decider on Sunday in the Arab Champions League (ACL) after recovering from a groin injury, the club said. Zaki missed Zamalek's goalless draw with Mahalla in the league last week due to injury but was declared fit before taking on the Saudis. The 24-year-old scored 11 goals for Zamalek this season, including three in the ACL against Ittihad Libya, Qadsia of Kuwait and Algeria's Ahli Bordj. Right-back Youssef Hamdi was ruled out through illness, paving the road for Ahmed Hossam to enjoy his first start since November.
Hossam Second-choice goalkeeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef, defender Tamer Abdul-Wahab, playmaker Magdi Atwa and holding midfielder Ahmed Abdul-Raouf were also included in the squad after being dropped recently because of different reasons. Mohamed Aboul-Ella (a heel problem) and Mahmoud Mahmoud (leg pains) are still out of action indefinitely. Zamalek are in a tight spot after collecting only one point from two games in Group A and any result except a win in Cairo could mean bowing out of the tournament. The Men in White are in the basement of the group, trailing Ahli Jeddah and Qadsia by two points. Ahli Bordj are in charge with four points.
