Asyut Petrol have been promoted to the Egyptian Premier League for the first time in their history following a 2-0 away win over Bani Swaif Telephones Wednesday in the last round of the qualifiers. Mohamed 'Samara' Ahmed opened the score line in the 37th minute and Ahmed Selim confirmed his side's ticket to the top-flight eight minutes form time. The win put Petrol in first spot of Group A with 15 points while Bani Swaif remain second. Petrol joined Tersana, Olympic, Tanta and Petrojet who have been promoted earlier to the Premier League. Asyut Petrol will be the second team in the history of Asyut city to play in the Premier League, following Asyut Cement who got promoted last season.
