Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 24 - 09 - 2024

Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdel-Aty, underscored the pivotal role of economic relations in the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States. During an American Chamber of Commerce event held on the sidelines of the High-level Meetings of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly, Abdel-Aty emphasised that strengthening these economic ties and attracting American investments are top priorities for Egypt.
The Foreign Minister highlighted the second meeting of the US-Egypt Joint Economic Commission (JEC), held in Washington earlier this month, as a significant step towards deepening this cooperation.
Abdel-Aty expressed satisfaction with the advancement of the bilateral relations between Egypt and US, particularly following the strategic dialogue session between the two countries held last week. Chaired by the foreign ministers of both countries, the session resulted in substantial outcomes, demonstrating the leaders' commitment to achieving tangible results in their partnership.
He also highlighted Egypt's ongoing efforts to develop a national industrial strategy and increase industrial production, showcasing the country's readiness to collaborate with American and international companies. Abdel-Aty further emphasised Egypt's interest in attracting more direct US investments by presenting lucrative opportunities within the Egyptian market.
FM Abdel-Aty reviewed recent state measures to improve the investment climate, address investor challenges, and enhance the business environment. He reaffirmed Egypt's dedication to continuing economic reforms, restoring market confidence, and empowering the private sector to drive economic development.
