A homemade bomb went off Thursday and injured a policeman in Roksy square, New Cairo, with no casualties among civilians. Ambulances rushed to the explosion area and the injured was transferred to Al-Bakry hospital for treatment, health ministry's spokesperson said. Bomb disposal experts intensified their presence immediately in the blast scene to scan the area for other potential threats. Egypt has been hit by a string of deadly blasts claiming hundreds of lives, mostly among security personnel since the ousting of former President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
