An improvised explosive device exploded Friday near a Bank in Giza governorate's October city, wounding two police officers, Al Bawaba News reported. Bomb disposal experts intensified their presence immediately to the blast scene to scan the area for other potential threats. Security source said that the wounded officers were transferred to the hospital for treatment. Egypt has been hit by a string of deadly blasts claiming hundreds of lives, mostly among security personnel since the ousting of former President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
