Steve Bruce heaped praise on Egyptian winger Ahmed Elmohamady after he joined Hull City from Sunderland on a season-long loan. The move reunites Elmohamady with Bruce, who left Sunderland last season to take charge of English second-division side Hull. “He's someone I brought over from Egypt and he did ever so well for me. He can play at right-back, right midfield or right wing-back, so he gives us plenty of options,” Bruce was quoted as saying by British media. “He'll be a great signing for us I'm sure and will be an exciting player in the Championship. “He played 40-odd games in the Premier League and has got 40-odd caps for Egypt, so he'll be an excellent addition for us.” Elmohamady – who made 60 appearances for Sunderland, scoring one goal – had been playing regularly at Sunderland but he went down the pecking order when incumbent boss Martin O'Neill took over. The Egyptian international was dropped from the Black Cats' lineup last season and figured only as a substitute at Arsenal on the opening day of the season.
