Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri decided to withdraw land, estimated at 21 million square meters (8.1 square miles) from a development project in the Northwest of the Gulf of Suez. Ganzouri announced his decision during a meeting with Suez governor Mohamed Abdel Moneim Hashim in his office at the Council of Ministers. Hashim told Youm7 he would release the decision to withdraw the land from “unserious” investors on Saturday. “The investors did not commit to implement their projects on these lands according to the scheduled agreed upon terms,” Hasim told Youm7. “The investor should start implementing his project within three years, and by ten years the project should be in a state of production.” Hashim said the Prime Minister agreed to allocate land of the Urban Societies Institute to build 2,000 workshops for small industry to provide 10,000 job opportunities.
