Egyptian security forces have detained 11 terror suspects Wednesday through a wide security campaign in north Sinai's Arish, Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid cities, security sources told Al Bawaba News. The forces also managed to defuse three improvised explosive devices planted by militants on the way of military tanks, eyewitnesses said. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, after it had claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
