Security sources confirmed that the Egyptian army launched Saturday several raids against terrorist groups' sites in Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah, Sinai, killing 19 militants and arresting 13 other. The security sources pointed out that the army carried out airstrikes to bomb terrorist sites which are used as their bases. The army has destroyed three cars and three motorcycles that did not hold license plates. Also, security forces defused an explosive device planted by unknown militants in Al-Sheikh Zuweid. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against the Sinai-based Wilayat Sinai terrorist group, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, after it had claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
