Tens of members of the April 6 Youth Movement, the Second Anger Revolution page on Facebook, the Kefaya Movement, and independents organized a protest outside the Ministry of Defense in Abbaseya, calling on the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces to hand over power by April 2012. A protest supporting the council repeated chants against their opponents, calling on them to leave. Clashes between both sides prompted the security forces and the military police to interfere and stop both protests. Security forces tore down placards condemning the SCAF and followed demonstrators. “Me and the other demonstrators participated in Tahrir Square on Friday December 9, and decided to head to the Ministry of Defense separately and then gather ourselves outside the ministry to deliver our calls to Field Marshal Tantawi,” said demonstrator Abdu Kasim. He added that they were treated violently by ministry security guards.
