CAIRO: Egypt's Ministry of Education decided to open 12,557 primary schools to be polling stations for upcoming parliamentary elections, according to Assistant Minister of Education Ahmed Tobal. The first round of elections for the People's Assembly, the lower house of Egypt's bicameral parliament, is slated for November 28. Below is a table for the number of schools in the large governorates: The Governorate The number Cairo 1115 Alexandria 1675 Port Said 1776 Suez 1854 Damietta 2254 Dakahlia 3361 Sharqia 3900 The numbers of ballot centers are prepared according to the number of the eligible voters in all governorates, added Tobal, who said classes in these schools will be suspend during the election days. Furthermore, the decision to stop the study in all 45,000 schools over Egypt on election day will be discussed by the Egyptian Cabinet, he added.
