The head of Egypt's High Elections Committee, Abdel Moez Ibrahim, said that the committee offered a number of proposals during its meeting with Minister of Justice Mohamed el-Gendy to discuss expatriate voting Tuesday. Ibrahim said that he proposed to amend Article 30 of the constitutional announcement, which stipulates full judicial supervision of elections by excluding Egyptians abroad this article. He requested allowing members of Egypt's diplomatic corps to supervise the elections abroad. He proposed passing legislation to allow Egyptians abroad to vote in the next elections using their passports and identification cards.
