CAIRO: Fans of Zamalek Football Club set fire to a microbus transporting rival al-Ahly fans on its way from Alexandria to Cairo International Stadium for a match between al-Ahly and Mouloudia d'Alger. Zamalek fans allegedly threw stones to stop the bus and used a Molotov cocktail to set light to it. Al-Ahly fans escaped through the bus windows, but some fans sustained injuries. Later, the microbus driver and his relatives broke into the Zamalek club and damaged windows and other property to avenge the earlier attack. It was reported that other microbus drivers joined in the attack on the Zamalek club. Officials at the Zamalek club called the police to quell the unrest in the building and arrest suspects.
