CAIRO: The head of the information center, Hany Mahmoud, said the latest opinion poll for the Information Centre revealed 40 percent of Egyptian households have at least one person looking for work. Mahmoud said to Youm7 relying on private sectors and small and medium enterprises could develop the Egyptian economy in the upcoming stage and play a major role in the advancement of East Asian countries. Mahmoud also said high unemployment in Egypt also requires attention labor-intensive industries. He pointed out Egypt could be an excellent hub for call centers due to the resources and infrastructure and the large number of unemployed graduates. Mahmoud stressed the need for the government to give attention in the next stage to the spinning and weaving industry suffering since it does not require higher qualifications. This could aid in decreasing unemployment in provinces outside Cairo. Arabic here
