The top news in today's papers is the health of deposed President Hosni Mubarak, the Egyptian army, and the wealth of former Minister of Informaitn Anas al-Fiqi. The day after becoming chief physician, Ihssan Camil Georgi said Mubarak is in good enough condition to be moved to Torah Prison's hospital. Georgi's report contradicts his predecessor, who said Mubarak's condition could not handle a prison hospital. State-run Al-Ahram revealed that Egypt's armed forces were planning to boost a public revolution before January 25. The military had devised a “primary” plan and predicted Egyptians would go to the streets in May or June to prevent presidential succession. In other news, Al-Akhbar reported that former Minister of information Anas al-Fiqi has 20 palaces and land worth more than 100 million EGP (U.S. $17 million), two yachts worth 4 million EGP, and received 5 million EGP from business tycoon Hisham Talaat Mustafa for telecasting “Madinaty” project ads.
