Ahli captain Hossam Ghaly was left out of the team's final rehearsal for Stade Malien as the Reds cruised to a 5-1 victory over Wadi Degla. After falling out with manager Manuel Jose, Ghaly has been dropped from the side that lost 1-0 at Stade in the Champions League last week and looks set to sit out the round of 16 return game. Despite football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz indicating that Ghaly will be pardoned, there was no place for the Egypt midfielder in Wednesday's warm-up match. But the game marked the return of playmaker Abdullah Al-Saied, who started and scored from the spot after spending nearly two months on the sidelines. Emad Meteb, Dominique da Silva, Al-Sayed Hamdi and Mohamed Abou-Treika were also on target in the big win. Ahli host Stade on May 12 at the Military Academy, knowing that only a two-goal-margin victory would take them to the group stage.
