Ismaili have announced that Hossam Hassan will succeed Emad Soliman as manager of the first team. Hassan's appointment comes right after Yehia Al-Koumi has been re-installed as club chairman, following the resignation of Nasr Aboul-Hassan last month. “Hiring Hossam Hassan on my first day with Ismaili is something great. I think we have achieved a major goal with such a deal,” Al-Koumi, who had a spell as Ismaili president a few years ago, said. Hassan failed to win a new contract with Zamalek earlier this summer as the Cairo club appointed former Egypt manager Hassan Shehata. The Egypt legend will be accompanied by his twin brother Ibrahim as football director, in addition to Tarek Soliman, who was his assistant at Zamalek. Dream Meanwhile, Hassan seemed delighted with the new challenge, hoping to make an instant impact with the coastal club. “It has always been a dream for me to present Ismaili. I love this club on a personal level,” the 44-year-old said. “Ismaili have a lot of decent players and my objective is to help the club win trophies again.” Ismaili were boosted by the news that star midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou has agreed to sign a new contract with the club, following months of uncertainty.
